Short answer: the price of a branded item depends on the product, the quantity, the printing technique, the number of colours and the number of print positions. The larger the order, the lower the price per piece. At Hidalgo, many textile items can be printed from just 10 pieces. Printed stock items are usually delivered within 8 to 14 working days, counted from your approval of the print proof.
If you are ordering bags, bottles, towels or clothing with your logo for the first time, you probably have three questions: what does it cost, what is the minimum order and when will it arrive? This article answers all three, based on more than thirty years of experience with promotional products since 1993.
What determines the price of a printed item?
A printed item consists of two parts: the product itself and the decoration. Both affect the price.
- The product. A simple cotton tote bag costs less than an insulated stainless steel bottle or an embroidered bath towel. Fabric weight (for textiles, in g/m²) and brand also play a role.
- The quantity. All prices use quantity tiers: the more pieces, the lower the price per piece, because the fixed set-up costs of printing are spread over more items.
- The printing technique. With screen printing and pad printing you pay per colour, because each colour needs its own screen or plate. With digital techniques such as DTF or sublimation, the number of colours hardly matters. Embroidery is priced by stitch count, so by the size and fill of the logo. - The number of positions. A logo on the chest and on the back counts as two positions, so two print runs.
- The print size. A large full-colour design on the back costs more than a small chest logo.

What is the minimum order quantity?
The minimum quantity depends on the product and the technique:
- Clothing and other textiles: often from just 10 pieces with decoration. We print small runs in-house using DTF.
- Small giveaways such as pens: the minimum is higher, often around 250 pieces, because the price per piece becomes disproportionately high at small quantities.
- Items produced specially for you (for example bags in a custom colour or size) usually have a higher minimum than stock items.
Would you like the same item in several colours? That is possible, as long as the print stays the same. You can then split the quantity across colours.
How long does delivery take?

The delivery time of a printed order starts once you have approved the quote and the digital print proof. If you wait longer than 24 hours to approve, the delivery date moves accordingly. Do you have a fixed date, such as a trade show, event or sports day? Mention it in your request and we will check what is feasible.

- Choose a product in the web shop or request a free quote.
- State the quantity, colour(s), logo position and any deadline.
- Send your logo along; if it is not ready yet, you can send it later.
- You receive a digital print proof. After your approval, the order goes into production.
