The Plantable Sproutworld Pencil is made from wood. It features a sharpened point for immediate use. At one end, a cellulose capsule holds several seeds. When the pencil is too short, you plant the capsule end into soil. Seeds will germinate in approximately 2-3 weeks. They then grow into flowers, herbs, or vegetables.

Available seed types include Sunflower, Basil, Forget Me Not, Rucola, Parsley, Cucumber, Daisy, Wildflowers, Eggplant, and Strawberry. The name of the plant is standardly engraved on each pencil. This pencil is lead-free and safe for all users. It is proudly made in Europe.

An optional colourful cardboard card (article W387) is available. This card can hold the pencil. It provides English product information. This enhances the pencil's presentation and perceived value.
